Simple Master Bathroom Shelves

For extra storage and display space we added a pair of simple wood shelves to our ensuite bathroom wall above the soaker tub.

We used brackets from IKEA that were left over from the kitchen shelf project a few years ago and simple rustic pine planks stored in the basement that I painted light grey. Since I hate hanging shelves and finding wall studs I got Kyle to do it. Love having a handy 16 year old son!

I still need to work on arranging the items but for now I added some aqua trims to the liners of baskets we already had. We buy multiples when items go on sale so the baskets come in handy for storing lots of extra razors, toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss etc.

I don't drink Dutch beer in the tub (or any beer actually lol!) but I did use a gifted bottle to hold my bubblebath. The deep green colour and stopper lid look so much better than a cheap plastic bottle.

I have about a dozen vintage milk glass pieces in this bathroom for display and to hold nail polish, hair clips, etc. This was a no cost project and although it is not fancy I do love the storage and display space these shelves bring to our bathroom. I encourage you to take a look around your home for items you can use for a new storage solution.

  1. This looks very nice Elizabeth. I like the re-use of the bottle and the little painting really adds a touch of the sea.

  3. I like the look of shelves in a bathroom to hold things. It warms up the space and makes good use of a room that always seems to need more storage!

  7. Your shelves look very pretty and I LOVE the colour of paint that you used in there! In the photos it looks to be about the same colour as my kitchen walls. Very nice!
