Finds ~ Crocks and Vintage Canning Jars

Vintage and farmhouse collectibles are not the easiest things to find at garage sales around here, but the hunting is fun.

There have been lots of garage sales these past few weekends and my youngest son and I have hit a lot of them. At two different sales I found these crocks, #1 and #2. I don't know if they are vintage or not.

I have also found quite a few vintage plain and aqua Crown Made in Canada canning jars. The prices on these are higher than ever due to the demand, but if you look hard enough there are still affordable ones out there. I am getting to the point that I have too many so I am going to sell some.

This smaller pitcher and wash basin was a consignment store find. I'm listing it on kijiji to see if it will sell.

The reverse has a floral pattern. This past weekend I also picked up a large roll of warm and natural quilt batting for $10 and an old dresser I plan to paint. The dresser was a bit pricey at $30 (needs some work.) It was a bit of an impulse buy that I am trying not to regret. Hopefully I can make it work. Have you found any items at sales lately?

Wishing my American friends a great Memorial Day!

I'm sharing this with...

  8. I have seen those crocks on Etsy all the time and admire them. They are always so pricey there. Great find !

  9. Hi Elizabeth,
I love old Crocks, too, I have one that was my husbands grandfathers, it's a Redwing. I'm certain it is vintage, because of where and who it came from. I wonder how to tell if a crock is vintage. Yours are in great condition, it appears. The pitcher and bowl are gorgeous, I hope it sells quickly for you.
I have not been to any garage sales yet, I see them around, but I've been sick and I have our youngest with us still. Next weekend, maybe?
    Have a good week.

  10. I adore those crocks you found!!! They would look great filled with cooking utensils by the stove. Or even a plant in one. Looks like you're finding some good stuff near you. The blue jars are wonderful too.

  11. Great finds! Love the crocks and jars. Can't wait to see the dresser when you've painted it.
