Painting Outside My Comfort Zone

I enjoy playing with colours, and paints especially, but I'm not an artist by any stretch.

On the March Break I decided to step out of my comfort zone of painting walls and furniture and try something different. I ended up spending a pleasant hour attempting to paint a beach scene on a little canvas. The colours in this photo are looking a bit darker than in real life, and I should probably lighten the sand a bit, but it was fun to create. One of those things that looks better at a distance lol, but I'm glad I tried it. The pair of small canvases were $1. Have you created something outside of your 'comfort zone' lately?

I'm sharing this at a bunch of great parties. Hope you get a chance to stop by.
