Christmas 2012 - The Front Porch

Our front porch is decorated with lots of fresh greenery and naturals for Christmas this year.

A small white bench is replacing the Muskoka chair of previous years. The planter is filled with fresh greenery, pinecones, a gold beaded star, gold balls and a wire and wood star garland. I used burlap ribbon for the bows to keep it on the rustic side.

The wreath on our front door is decorated very simply with red wooden berries and a simple natural bow.

I filled a smaller zinc plant pot with lots of greens and another beaded star.

I added more pine cones on the bench and the two mason jars with faux snow and holding tealights will be lit when we are expecting visitors.

A pair of girls skates remind us of skating, one of our favourite Canadian winter hobbies.

On the vintage chippy paned window I hung an off-white sap bucket made into a little pocket with a 'Let it Snow" and snowman cutout. It is filled with greens, the third gold beaded star and a simple burlap bow.

I love that this is simple enough to stay out all winter. The naturals and rustic look will be carried into our home as well.

Hopefully winter winds won't blow the little bits of bark and pine cones around.

This wooden black bear welcomes visitors. I love his black and red scarf, which is repeated on our Family tree in our family room.

Another pair of the sap bucket pockets, this time in green with Merry Christmas and a tree cutouts, hang on either side of our garage door from lights. The black pots are filled with a variety of evergreens, shiny, matt and glittered gold balls and more simple burlap bows.

I hope you enjoyed visiting our Christmas porch. I have the majority of our decorating completed and will be sharing it soon. Looking forward to seeing lots of your home's decorated for the holidays too.
