Blue and White Transferware Find

I love transferware and was so happy to peek into a box at a community garage sale today and find some blue and white loveliness.

The pattern is The Old Mill by Johnson Bros. made in England, and I was surprised to see it priced as $5 for the whole box.

There are six tea cups and saucers and six side plates, but only four dinner plates and three bowls. I think the sugar bowl might be missing it's lid. I still love it though!

I love bringing vintage pieces home and gently washing and drying them. Admiring the pieces the whole time.

I have a few other blue and white pieces and this transferware really adds nicely to my collection. I have only four pieces of black/brown pattern that I shared here, and I would love to find some red.

The creamer is my favourite piece. I love the shape of it and how the gentle scallop of the plates is repeated on the rim.

I'm still deciding where to display it but I think with some upcoming shelf changes in the kitchen my problem will be solved. I hope you are enjoying your weekend. Do you collect transferware or a special pattern or colour of dishes? My favourites are ironstone, anything white and transferware.
