A Date with Some Library Books

Until my 13 year old son asks to visit the library a couple of times a year I always forget that there are great books at our local library.

We love to read and are fortunate that reading material around here is plentiful. I come from a very large family of avid readers who buy and keep most of their books, in a range of genres. Luckily for me my sisters, brothers and nieces and nephews lend books, but unfortunately there is not a decorating enthusiast in the bunch. I own a few favourite decorating and DIY books but it is always fun to read more.

Yesterday I browsed the home and craft section and brought home a few to enjoy. After baking a double batch of chocolate chip cookies for my guys (and a couple for me to sample) I'm going to enjoy my tea and a date with some books.

Do you mostly order online/in bookstores or are you a library regular?

  1. I stopped at the library recently before a mini vacation we were taking and checked out a ton of decorating books. (like a dozen or so) It was so fun to have them to read during some down time.

    Enjoy yours!

  2. We make a regular trip to the library every 3 weeks and stock up on all sorts of books and magazines. I've started getting gardening and crafting magazines from there ... sure beats the subscription price. We got so many books last time the lady asked if we were going away, nope just 2 retired folks enjoying the nice weather and reading.

  3. I am always so floored by all the great books at the library. I always come home with a big heavy stack of cookbooks, garden, crafts, decorating books, magazines, etc. etc. Unfortunately, Kennedy hates going to the library for some reason, so I don't get to go often enough! Have fun!

  4. I love the library too! We used to go every Sunday when my kids were smaller for the afternoon but they have lost interest as they got older and find other things to do besides hanging at the library. Our library has tons of amazing books and movies too! Have an amazing weekend Elizabeth! Angie xo

  5. I hate to admit this..but I buy most of my books...I don't go to the library. My daughters and I trade off, so we always have books between the four of us to read.

  6. I usually go to Barnes & Noble (book store) to check them out. If I see something I love, I'll order it on Amazon.com. They have the best prices I find. Our library ususally doesn't have the latest decorating books, so I don't have very much luck there. We're getting a new library just down the road from my house. So, I'll have to go check it out after it's open. Since it will be new, they may have a better selection. You're lucky to have found some good ones at your local library!

  9. Reading a variety of books allows you to widen your knowledge in different topics like culture, history, and arts. It's also great to read books on decorating and DIY tips. These books will come in handy when you need to fix something in your home, or if you want to renovate your bedroom. For example, they'll give you ideas on what color you should use for the walls or the floors.

I really LOVE getting comments and read each one. They truly make me smile! If you have a question I will email you. Due to a huge increase in spam comments I have enabled comment moderation but I will post all friendly comments. Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!
