The Difference A Year Makes

The boys and I just returned from a two day 4-H show, Dairy this time.

Great people, wonderful chaperones and the kids learn lots of leadership skills. It's also a nice break in the country watching all the age groups take their turns in the ring.

Lots and lots of kids and their calves and it all comes down to the judging of the finals.

And what a difference a year makes. Below is the same calf at the same show last August when she was still a tiny little girl.

And for comparison, here she is again this week.

Now I need to get those whites clean again for the next fair and put all the camping stuff away. Hope you have a great summer weekend!

  2. That sounds like a fun time for you and the kids. Our Fredericton Exhibition (FREX) is coming up on Labor Day weekend for a whole week. The total fair - judging of animals, produce, and hand work, stage shows and horse races. I think it's the oldest continuously running agricultural fair in Canada. Have a great weekend.
