Two Curtain Choices

I mentioned when I painted the living room that I might use the blue paisley curtains I made.

A second choice would be to use these striped tablecloths to make new curtains.

The paisley:

Or the stripe:

The denims and whites pillows will most likely be used in this room, so with that in mind, what is your opinion? One of these, or something else entirely? (The drop cloth drapes are currently in our bedroom.)

My design style is a rustic country, with a mix of a farmhouse and lakeside feel. This is our main living room at the front of our home, but we only use it as a quiet sitting room for reading and visiting with family. The small pine hutch will most likely stay until I find larger wood bookcases in a similar style. I would love you to share your ideas!

  1. First of all they are both beautiful. I love paisley and stripes. If you want a more formal living room, I would go with the paisley, less formal the stripes.

Your room is coming together beautifully.

  2. I prefer the stripes, since it brings the colour of the walls into the curtains. I find the paisley is too much of a contrast against the walls. I do love the paisley though, it would be great as cushion material, or on a chair.

  3. I think I prefer the stripes... they're "fun"! Although I must admit, I do have a thing for stripes. The paisley is nice too, in fact I believe I have that same fabric...

  4. With the striped pillows, I think I would go with the paisley curtains. But you could make a valance with the stripes or add a bottom striped border to the paisley curtains to mix it up. Just a thought...

  5. I LOVE the stripes, but the paisley's pretty too!! I like the crisp cleaness that the stripes provide.

  6. paisley, they add a nice touch of color, the stripes on the pillows I think are brought out more by the paisley...

  7. I love the paisley, but I really like the stipes in here, can't wait to see which one you go with.

I'm your newest follower, thanks for visiting LazyonLoblolly hope you'll come follow back.
The chair redo was so much fun, thanks for your sweet comment.

  8. i really love the paisley curtains.:D

  9. I love them both but I do think the stipes would look better:):)
Either way...I think it will look fabulous:)

  10. Gosh, I like them both. How about adding the striped fabric down the edge of the paisley panels.

  11. I'm more in camp paisley as they look less busy from a distance. I did think of the same thing as Kim with putting a fringe of stripes down the lead edge of the paisley.

That being said, I was wondering if you had tried sheer white drapes like in your first inspiration photo from the last post. I think it might give a softer lighter look. I know IKEA has some pretty white sheer curtains for sale.
